This year we have teamed up with our friends at Box Armour to help raise money for two very special charities – The Royal British Legion.🌺  and Help For Heroes. We designed these poppy backpack badges to be sold for the poppy appeal.

Each year on the 11th November, Remembrance Day, the Royal British Legion leads the nation in honouring and paying our respects to all of those who have served and sacrificed, right from the beginning of the First World War to the present day. Today on Remembrance Sunday we wanted to launch our charity poppies, and over the next 12 months we will be selling these poppy patches to raise as much money as possible for next year.

The Royal British Legion says: “We’re here through thick and thin – ensuring their unique contribution is never forgotten. We’ve been here since 1921 and we’ll be here as long as they need us. From providing expert advice and guidance, to recovery and rehabilitation, through to transitioning to civilian life – we can be by their side every step of the way. And it’s not just members of the Armed Forces but their families too.”

Help for Heroes says: “At Help for Heroes, we believe those who serve our country deserve support when they’re wounded….We receive almost no funding from the Government, which means we rely on the spirit and generosity of the great British public, our partners and volunteers to keep going.”

The money raised throughout the year, and particularly around this time of year is vital to help support these incredible charities with the life saving work they do.

The CrossFit community and the Armed Forces have a very strong ties, with the famous Hero WODs designed to honour those who have died in the line of duty. When a service member dies a CrossFit hero WOD is created as a tribute to them, and I’m sure many of you like us have got involved in these WODs to pay your respects.

We are very proud to be getting involved in raising money and showing our respect for all the incredible men and women who have, and continue to sacrifice their lives for the rest of us every day.

On Remembrance Day (this Wednesday) we will be joining the community in paying our respects with a Hero WOD. We will make it so that you can log your scores on BoxMate and see the scores from other athletes from other boxes around the country (and beyond!) – please keep your eye out on our social media for more details this week if you’d like to get involved!
